George – As an alumnus of Utugi Angels, George had a case of dyslexia, Utugi Angels developed his skills and talent. After his recovery we retained him at the community. His interest and desire to become better led him to becoming one of the staff and heading the SIRIT Centre, an innovation and training programme.
George is an all rounded person who also largely contributes towards Utugi Angels Home Industries, a programme aimed at creating job opportunities for persons with disabilities at their comfort which he initiated its design. Utugi Angels holds him as one of the business persons that will matter in the economy of this world.
Patrick Chege – Patrick has a case of microcephaly. He has faced a lot of stigma due this disability. He has also been locked out of basic opportunities in life. Utugi Angels has offered care and safety of this amazing soul. He is on supported toileting but very confident in expression though he doesn’t communicate in words. Recently, he underwent an urgent operation after developing a unique growth. He is still recuperating. He is undergoing training on activities of daily living and has progressed positively.
Peter Mbugua – Peter is a case of abandoned child with cerebral palsy. He can express himself and has capacity to identify her mom. He can access education services but his toileting and mobility needs has barred him from such opportunities. His family tracing has been unsuccessful but with consistent therapy, we hold onto the hope that he will one day walk and be free to access all opportunities in life. Utugi Angels has knocked many doors on his behalf but unsuccessful due to conditional needs of employing a support care to accompany him to school to enable him access education.
His therapy needs are critical at this stage of his life too. His average age is 10 to 12 years. He has memories of the night of abandonment and mentions Nakuru as a place of origin. We have tried all means trace his family in vain.
